TORONTO, CANADA, February 8, 2024 - teamLab Planets Tokyo, the most popular museum in the world according to Google’s ‘Year in Search 2023’ annual ranking, has announced the addition of two new exhibits to be unveiled in Spring 2024, each evoking the beauty of Japan’s famous cherry blossoms.
“Floating in the Falling Universe of Flowers” renders the life cycle of flowers in real-time. Each unique visual state is organically generated; never to be replicated again. The second installation, entitled “Drawing on the Water Surface Created by the Dance of Koi and People”, invites visitors to walk barefoot on the surface of a seemingly infinite sea of colour, with energetic koi scattering into cherry blooms upon contact.
These immersive installations will officially be viewable on March 1, 2024, before rotating out on April 30, 2024.
The announcement of these exciting seasonal exhibits comes as teamLab Planets Tokyo celebrates rising domestic and international popularity. In addition to the Google ranking, it also ranked first on Honichi Lab’s ‘Popular Inbound Tourist Destinations Ranking’, compiled by Japan’s leading tourism information media from Google reviews of over 4,700 attractions across Japan.

Encompassing two vibrant gardens and four dedicated spaces for art, the cutting-edge, novel concept of teamLab Planets in Tokyo’s Toyosu neighbourhood is known for its immersive and reactive digital landscapes, blurring the boundaries between art and observer. These works represent the latest creative expression from the award-winning teamLab collective: a multidisciplinary team that explores the intersection of art, technology, science and the natural world through digital exhibits.
